SOSBI BURR OAK BIGFOOT CONFERENCE

PAUL B. BARTHOLOMEW
Bartholomew has been researching Cryptozoology and paranormal phenomena for nearly four decades. Earning a B.S. in Communications, with a concentration in Journalism from Castleton State College (Vermont), where he studied under History and Anthropology Professor Warren L. Cook. Together they investigated many sightings of large unknown hairy bipedal creatures in the Northeast. In 2004, Bartholomew wrote and lobbied for legislation to create a protective habitat for Sasquatch. The measure passed both the Village and Town of Whitehall and served largely as symbolic legislation dedicated to the research and memory of the late Professor Cook. In 2008, Bartholomew and his brother Robert, authored "BIGFOOT ENCOUNTERS IN NEW YORK AND NEW ENGLAND" (Hancock House). In it hundreds of Sasquatch reports were documented throughout the Northeast. From traditional histories of the Algonquin and Iroquois to the writings of Champlain, these creatures form a rich cultural regional base. The legend of Sasquatch is further tracked from the "Wildman" encounters of the 1800's to the "Bigfoot" sightings of modern day. Bartholomew has appeared or worked on various radio and television programs including The Outdoor life Network's "Mysterious Encounters", as well as the History Channel's "Giganto", "Monster Quest", "America's Book of Secrets", and Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot". He continues to write, research and investigate various unexplained phenomena and has several projects pending. He can be reached at : bfyeti1@yahoo.com or on Facebook. Bartholomew's presentation will focus on Bigfoot encounters in the New York and Vermont regions.

SCOTT CARPENTER
I had my first experience with Bigfoot in 1972-1973 when two juvenile hairy bipeds peered at me through a glass door. In the Spring of 2009 I made some half hearted “whooping” calls while fishing on a local lake. The calls got the attention of something large, loud, and intimidating. It came to the shore line crashing through the underbrush and breaking limbs. Though the unseen creature never showed itself it did make an audible "hmmph" before walking slowly back into the forest. This peaked my interest in the topic. I began researching Bigfoot/Sasquatch both on public lands and in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
In February of 2011 I joined North American Bigfoot Search (NABS) and contributed many hair and saliva samples to the Sasquatch Genome Project aka the Ketchum DNA Project.
I have a BS in Computer Science and I am the Systems Administrator for a software development firm in Knoxville Tennessee. I make my home Maryville Tennessee in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.

DAVID PAULIDES
Dave Paulides received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of San Fransisco, and has a professional background that includes twenty years in law enforcement and senior executive positions in the technology sector. In 2004, he formed North America Bigfoot Research-NABS (www.nabigfootsearch.com) where his investigative and analytical experience were invaluable in researching Bigfoot/Sasquatch sightings, encounters and behavior. He spent two years living among the Hoopa tribal members, listening to and recording their Bigfoot stories. The Hoopa Project was his first book, based upon his experiences in the Bluff Creek area of Northern California. David's second book, Tribal Bigfoot is a quantum step forward in Bigfoot research and allows for a common sense understanding of this elusive biped. These two books have been called the new standard for crypto research.
NABS was also the group that started the Bigfoot DNA project which was instrumental in the identification of bigfoot/sasquatch as its own hybrid species.
On March 1, 2012 David released his third book, "Missing 411-Western U.S.", the story of people who have disappeared in the wilds of North America. Many of the parents and relatives of the missing make claims that the victim was kidnapped/abducted, in very remote areas, this is well documented. This 3+ year 7000 hour investigation into unexplained disappearances in isolated locations is a book that anyone who walks in the woods should read. The real question that this book elicits is...What is happening to these people?
In late March 2012, David's fourth book was released, "Missing 411-Eastern U.S.". The eastern version is a continuation of stories which occurred in the eastern half of the United States with special sections on unusual outdoor activities which seem to be related to disappearances and a master list of all people who have vanished.
In June 2012, Mr. Paulides was an invited speaker at the 2012 National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR) annual conference in South Lake Tahoe. The presentation was on the findings of the Can Am Project that were detailed in "Missing 411". The packed room at the Harvey's Convention Center heard Mr. Paulides give a detailed overview of the twenty eight clusters of missing people and the associated elements found within the clusters.
Since the release of the "Missing 411" series, Mr. Paulides has been a guest on countless radio shows, morning television and prime time news casts. The 411 series has been vetted by some of the best Search and Rescue professionals, investigative journalists, radio and television hosts and print journalists from North America.
